Once as guest of honor at a dinner party, he was called on for a speech. “Ladies and gentlemen, I am sorry, but I have nothing to say,” he said and sat down. Arose and added, “In case I do have something to say, I’ll come back.” 6 months later he wired the president, “Now I have something to say.” Another dinner was held, he made his speech.
